They are TURNING LEBANON INTO GAZA

They're calling Lebanon the new Gaza. And if you look at what's happening on the ground, you can start to see why. Israel is reportedly pushing to create what it calls a ten kilometer security zone in southern Lebanon. This isn't a buffer zone. This is effectively a new border. From Beirut to southern Lebanon, infrastructure is being hit. Litani River bridges have been destroyed, cutting off entire regions. Roads, homes and villages are being bombed, and entire areas are being emptied of people. Nearly 1 million people have already been displaced. Entire towns are expected to be leveled. And analysts warn that this could result in up to 10% of Lebanon effectively being carved off. Now, this wouldn't be the first time. In 1982, Israel occupied southern Lebanon for 18 years, controlling a large security zone in the south. But what is happening now is not just about land. It may also be about water. According to Oxfam, Israeli strikes have damaged water infrastructure in Lebanon, including reservoirs, pipelines and pumping stations. In just four days of escalation, at least seven critical water facilities were damaged. Around 60,000 people still rely on those same water sources. Under international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, targeting civilian infrastructure is prohibited. And using water deprivation as a method of warfare could constitute a serious war crime. Some Israeli officials have openly referred to using the Gaza model in Lebanon. And analysts now warn that what we may be seeing is a broader strategy.
