Who is Yelping and Snarling in the Foggy Forest around the Winter Den Site of Japanese Raccoon Dogs?

What animal is yelping and snarling at the winter den site of Japanese raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes viverrinus, family Canidae) in the snow-covered deciduous forest? You can see only a pair of glaring eyes moving in the foggy darkness. I’m not sure but it was likely to be a Japanese raccoon dog rather than a trespassing Japanese red fox.
