Description
What animal is yelping and snarling at the winter den site of Japanese raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes viverrinus, family Canidae) in the snow-covered deciduous forest? You can see only a pair of glaring eyes moving in the foggy darkness. I’m not sure but it was likely to be a Japanese raccoon dog rather than a trespassing Japanese red fox. Captured with my new trailcam in the foggy late-evening (around 23:35 PM) of early-February 2025 in Japan.
