President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, aboard the “TUR” aircraft to attend the “Sharm el-Sheikh Summit for Peace.” The plane carrying President Erdoğan made a go-around at Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport. After briefly circling over the Red Sea, it later landed at the airport. Erdoğan was welcomed by Egypt’s Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy, Turkey’s Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Şen, and members of the embassy staff. Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Chief İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, and Presidential Chief Advisor on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç also accompanied President Erdoğan to Sharm el-Sheikh. Responding to the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump, President Erdoğan and his delegation proceeded to the International Convention Center, where the “Sharm el-Sheikh Summit for Peace” will be held to discuss the Gaza ceasefire agreement. President Erdogan is expected to attend the signing ceremony of the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement and hold consultations with the leaders of participating countries during the summit.
