After the adoption, True's cardiologist said something that's hard to shake. Before Amy and Ryan stepped in, True wouldn't have even qualified for the heart transplant he's eventually going to need. Not because of his heart condition, but because a transplant requires a strong support system, consistent medication, and someone who shows up every single day. And before True was adopted, he didn't have any of that. But now he does. It started as a 4-year-old boy who showed up for heart surgery completely alone…no parent and no one who loved him. And somewhere between that hospital bed and August 2023, six kids found families.
