Description
Since Nichola Howells was 14, she has suffered with debilitating heavy periods and “beyond agonising” pain that felt like "barbed wire being dragged through” her body. After being let down by medical professionals at every turn, and even being told it was her “mentality” that was causing the pain, it took over 3 decades for Nichola to finally be diagnosed with stage four endometriosis. Now age 47, Nichola is still searching for the right treatment, having just been put on new medication, and is awaiting a full hysterectomy and bowel reconstruction. She’s here alongside gynaecologist Dr Nitu Bajekal.
