New Netflix series on hockey team's bus crash hits a nerve in Sask.

A new Netflix hockey series is in production, set in a small town where a bus crash involving a local team claims the lives of young players, and their coach. That storyline is all too familiar for many in Saskatchewan. Scott Thomas’s son Evan was one of the players who died in the Humboldt Broncos crash that killed 16 and injured 13 others in 2018. CBC reached out to Netflix and the production company 21 Laps for comment. According to Netflix, the show is fictional and not inspired by any real life events.
