Assassins Creed Black Flag Resynced - 14 Minutes Gameplay (2026) AC4 Remake Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a full remake (not just a remaster) of the 2013 classic Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, rebuilt from the ground up in the latest Anvil engine. It launches July 9, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Story: You play as Edward Kenway, a ruthless pirate/privateer in the Golden Age of Piracy (early 1700s Caribbean). Edward chases fortune and glory, gets pulled into the Assassin-Templar war, and slowly grows from selfish rogue to someone with deeper purpose. The main narrative follows the original closely—naval battles, treasure hunting, hunting legendary ships, and key historical pirates like Blackbeard. Key Changes and additions: Graphics & Tech Overhaul: Stunning next-gen visuals with ray tracing, PBR materials, new models/animations, dynamic weather (stronger storms affect sailing), modern water simulation, seamless environments, Dolby Atmos, and better lighting/NPC density. No more old PhysX issues. Gameplay Upgrades: Combat: Reworked for faster, more dynamic fights — emphasis on parries, visceral takedowns, quick rope dart/pistol use. Feels more action-oriented and fluid. Stealth & Parkour: Improved and smoother (closer to recent AC games). Tail missions no longer fail on detection (big QoL win). Better movement options and "dive anywhere" stealth. Naval: Enhanced Jackdaw handling, new weapon upgrades/alternate fires (e.g., shrapnel barrels), dynamic weather impact, new abilities. No loading screens in some areas. New Content: New story missions/scenes (including one with Edward's wife Caroline), expanded arcs for Blackbeard & Stede Bonnet. 3 new recruitable officers (Lucy Baldwin, "The Padre", Tobias "Deadman" Smith) with their own loyalty/questlines (Mass Effect-style crew stories). Ship pets (cat or monkey on the Jackdaw) 10 new sea shanties (some with Woodkid). More modern-day Animus segments focused on Edward's internal struggles (but trimmed overall — no full playable modern-day protagonist like before). Removals: No multiplayer, no Freedom Cry DLC integrated. Pure single-player focus on Edward's story. the hidden blade is no longer a selectable combat weapon. You can't equip and fight with it like in the original (where it had its own moveset alongside swords, pistols, etc.) Dual sabers/swords are now Edward’s primary melee weapons. The hidden blade is a contextual finisher/takedown only Level Up / RPG Removal no leveling system, no gear scores, no RPG progression gates. Ubisoft has repeatedly emphasized that Resynced is not an RPG and stays true to the original’s action-adventure style. No enemy scaling based on your “level.” No loot-based gear with stats that lock content.
