Description

Grown from a seedling (around 2020). Inspired by a bonsai Japanese Maple seen in Kyoto - pruning this small Japanese Maple To keep it about 2 to 4 feet tall & wide. It is naturally large so this may not work but definitely interested in trying! Journey started in 2025 and now continuing to 2026. Goal for 2026 is to keep the height of trunk as is. Try keeping only a few branches from the main trunk at about a node's length at about 8 to 10 inches. Spring growth will start after this light prune. Will prune after Spring growth is done to encourage summer growth. Not sure if this will work the way I planned.🤔🤔 Fall color November 2025 - https://youtu.be/bcOd7u7ZeGo Summer prune Jun 2025 - Light prune 2025 - https://youtu.be/n8tzybQg7j0 Prune November 2024 - https://youtu.be/hWwotbFWlC0 Prune to shape July 2024 - https://youtu.be/VuaUSzYJAJI Containers - https://youtu.be/MAnjSB8R1Jg 🤔🤔 Home garden in zone 8 west coast Canada.
