Song Made Us Wait… But Delivered Perfection

After keeping us waiting well past her due date, Song finally decided it was time—and thankfully, she gave us the kind of foaling every breeder hopes for. Following the birth of our previous two foals, both of which came with their own complications and stressful moments, it was such a relief to finally have a completely uneventful, textbook delivery. Song delivered a strong colt with no drama, no emergency, and no intervention needed beyond simply being there to monitor and support. Sometimes after a string of difficult cases, a normal birth can feel just as emotional as the hard ones—and this was definitely one of those moments. We also wanted to address a few questions about his color. Because of his very pale coat and white markings, some people have asked if he could be a lethal white overo, but he is absolutely not. Both of his parents have been genetically tested and are negative for the lethal white overo gene, meaning he cannot be affected by that condition. His coloring is most likely: Smokey Cream Dun Tobiano, or Perlino Dun Tobiano His unusually light appearance is simply due to his cream dilution genetics combined with his white patterning—not a health concern.
