Description
U.S. President Trump was made aware of a fresh Iranian missile attack on Israel following the Lebanon strike, The Times of Israel reported, citing Axios. Trump responding to Iranian attack said, he “will call” Israeli PM Netanyahu and press him “not to retaliate”, as per Axios. Following this development, Middle East ceasefire appears increasingly fragile after Israel struck Beirut and Iran launched retaliatory missiles. Iran launched missiles attack at Israel on June 08 in retaliation for the Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburbs. This Iranian missile attack, marking the first Iranian missile attack since the April 8 ceasefire, Israel Defence Forces stated. Further, a U.S. official told Axios, that "We are not part of this," but it is unclear whether Trump will order the U.S. military not to assist Israel in a strike in Iran. Meanwhile, another official confirmed that U.S. President Trump spoke to Israeli PM Netanyahu. According to the Axios, Trump also said, that "the Iranian strikes didn't hurt anybody". He further added, “We are very close to a final deal with Iran. It is going to be a good deal. I don’t want it to blow up because of what is happening now”. Meanwhile, Israel vowed to continue strikes on Hezbollah targets in Beirut, rejecting any new equation set by Iran. Israeli Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said, "the Iranian regime has made a grave mistake".
