Israel's controversial new death penalty law explained

Israel has passed a law permitting the death penalty as punishment for those convicted of deadly terrorism. Critics of the law say it's wording means it will likely only be used against Palestinians. Under the law, executions would be carried out by hanging. Human rights groups call the legislation "inhumane" and it comes at a time of increased violence against Palestinians carried out by Israeli settlers in the West Bank.
