What is that ring-like device this kid is wearing and having fun with it? Well, some kids can develop a condition called scoliosis or kyphosis, where their spine curves abnormally as they grow. And in cases of severe spinal deformities, doctors may use this treatment called halo-gravity traction. It involves attaching a metal ring, called a halo, to the patients skull using small pins. This halo is connected to a pulley system with weights that gently pull the head and spine upward over time, gradually improving alignment before surgery.
