Remembering Ahmad Salim His Life, Work, and Lasting Legacy || احمد سلیم کو خراجِ عقیدت On the occasion of Ahmad Salim’s birth anniversary, reflections were shared on his life, work, and enduring intellectual legacy. Farhatullah Babar, former Spokesperson to the President of Pakistan, recalled a long personal and professional association with Salim, describing him as a generous mentor who patiently provided research material, references, and guidance, particularly during his years of study in Peshawar. He also highlighted Salim’s contribution to human rights discourse, noting that his input was sought during the drafting of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s 2018 manifesto. Acknowledging institutional support, he said SDPI deserves recognition for preserving Ahmad Salim’s work and supporting him during his illness. Discussing history and narrative, he pointed out the deep gap between state narratives and people’s history, stressing that Ahmad Salim remains relevant today because his work represented public history often silenced but deeply rooted in people’s lived experiences.
