Farewell Violet

This sweet girl was spotted limping across a road in the Adelaide Hills yesterday. Sadly, she’s struggling to climb and was very hungry when she came into care. After initial veterinary care she was taken for a full assessment at the Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Centre. It was not good news. 🌿💔 Farewell, Violet 💔🌿 With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to beautiful Violet. This dear old girl, estimated to be at least 10 years old, was found struggling and in pain. After thorough vet assessments, we discovered she had multiple serious health issues — including a large internal mass causing irreversible organ damage and fused spinal discs that must have made every movement painful. While it breaks our hearts, we know the kindest thing that could be done was to ease her suffering. Violet passed peacefully with a tummy full of fresh leaf and surrounded by care and compassion. We are incredibly grateful to the kind person who reported her — it meant she didn’t suffer in silence and alone. Your call gave her the gentle ending she deserved. Violet had a long life for a wild koala, and now she’s resting pain-free. Rest in peace, sweet girl. 💚
