A cool and fresh start to Friday, with a few showers still lingering across the country, most notably over western Scotland. Showers will continue to develop through the day, but they will be less frequent and less intense than earlier this week. Many areas will enjoy longer spells of sunshine. Winds will be brisk along western coasts, while the south stays lighter.
