Our review of the Honda 2026 CRF300F! Our Canadian cousins are upgrading their fleet of older CRF250F models. So is the 300 better? Honda added a sixth gear to the 2026 CRF300F? We thought it was April Fool's day. For years riders around the world have scratched their heads over why Japanese manufacturers have so much trouble counting past five. Need hard enduro training? Work through our video lists. Hard enduro techniques are covered in our training vids. The 2026 Honda CRF300F! Our Canadian cousins are upgrading their fleet of CRF250F models so are keen to know if the 300 is even better. Congratulations Mr Honda! How has the 2026 CRF300F changed? The engine is 44cc bigger. A sixth gear added. An oil cooler. Stiffer suspension. Thankfully the Honda 2026 CRF300F price still looks good. $5000 MSRP in the USA. Somewhere around AUD8500 in Australia. We don't have footage of the CRF300F yet from our Canadian cousins so we are just using CRF250F footage instead. How is it different? As expected, the extra 44cc just adds a little bit of extra power. The sixth gear is very useful if you will be riding a mix of slow terrain and faster sections. We can only hope we see a sixth gear added to other Japanese models. The Honda 2026 CRF300F suspension is definitely better although an aggressive or heavy rider will probably still need to make some mods. Check this out man. Into enduro and dirt bikes? Check out our dirt bike videos. Extreme enduro training vids are our focus. Front wheel drive! Two wheel drive Honda! It's funny that Honda mentions some new alloy parts to reduce weight when the CRF300F is actually eight pounds or 3.6kg heavier than the 250! Personally we think that may be a good reason to stick with the CRF250F, depending on the sort of riding you do. Faster more open riding? You will appreciate the extra power and stiffer suspension. Slower technical riding on the Honda CRF300F? The lighter 250 could suit you better. And we found the soft suspension settings quite good in slow terrain. If you are looking at either 250 or 300, here is our summary. These aren't high performance enduro motorbikes. But they are surprisingly capable in the hands of a good rider. In fact there are quite a few experienced dirt riders never upgrade because they are short and the low seat height is a dream come true. Traction eRag has a pile of Hondas in their fleet. Customers often ask for the race-oriented CRF250RX first, then swap to the Honda CRF300F because it is so much easier to ride on all the twisty single track. There's also that famous Honda reliability. These motorbikes are flogged hard every summer but nothing goes wrong with them unless a rider crashes and breaks something. Their mechanic absolutely loves them for lessening his work load. Their previous fleet of Betas were constantly breaking down or having electrical issues. The Honda CRF300F is so user-friendly. The low seat height. Very light clutch. It feels light because the weight is so low. The throttle response is very gentle. It's hard to stall. Linear power. There is just so much to like about these little work horses. The negatives? If you are enduro riding get into our enduro training vids. Our dirt riding tips are great for developing your hard enduro skills. The rear brake pedal sticks out and can catch passing obstacles and bend easily. It's a minor point but you need an allen socket and Phillips screw driver to access the air filter. If you want extreme enduro training see our playlists of enduro skills to learn. Try our training vids for working on your extreme enduro techniques. Also tall riders will feel quite cramped on these Hondas. That's when the Kawasaki KLX300R would be a better motorbike. We think the Kawasaki KLX300R is actually a very good option as well. It does cost USD800 more than the Honda CRF300F, but you get the longer suspension and higher seat height. We haven't ridden it yet but hear nothing but good reviews. Thinking about the cRF300F? Have you ridden or owned a CRF250F? Loved it or hated it? Let us know in the comments!
