Description

Students who get into Harvard and students who don’t aren’t always separated by GPA… After reading thousands of applications, I found that they’re usually separated by whether they used the Spike Strategy. A spike is going DEEP in one area instead of wide across five. Here’s what it looks like: S — Select one subject you’re genuinely obsessed with P — Pursue the hardest classes available in it I — Innovate with research, competitions, or independent study K — Kickstart something original (a paper, app, business, initiative) E — Endure for 12+ months. Consistency matters. ❌ A student without a spike may have 5 random clubs, generic essay, scattered activities. 👍 A student with a spike has debate captain, policy blog, city council internship, research paper on housing. Your spike makes your GPA the least interesting thing about you.
