Japanese Wild Boar Wades across Muddy Puddle without Bathing in the Wee Hours in Autumn

Caught a glimpse of a Japanese wild boar (Sus scrofa leucomystax, family Suidae) crossing a muddy puddle at the montane wetland. Contrary to my expectations, it didn’t wallow in the waterhole. Captured with my new trailcam in the middle of night (around 2:20 AM) of mid-October 2024 in Japan. The air temperature was 11 degrees Celsius.
