SSR Mining’s Hod Maden: Incredible Gold Project, Awkward Deal

#Gold #Mining #preciousmetals #finance #money SSR Mining is moving closer to a construction decision at its Hod Maden copper-gold project in Turkey and has released an updated technical report to reset expectations. Hod Maden is a fully permitted underground mine with very high margins and low operating costs, which is why it’s often described as one of the best undeveloped gold projects in the sector. Even after cost inflation, the project still generates strong returns at today’s gold prices. The catch is ownership. SSR owns up to 40% of Hod Maden, meaning the company does all the development, construction, and operating work for less than half of the final profits. The asset itself is excellent, but the structure limits how much value flows back to SSR shareholders.
