Description
In this video Keith walks through the Sunsynk LK Range “Life’s Kool” – our modular commercial and industrial (C&I) battery storage platform that runs from 100 kWh PowerHubs right up to multi-megawatt container systems.
You’ll hear how Sunsynk has already deployed tens of thousands of commercial systems worldwide, from NHS sites in the UK through to factories and installations across Africa and Asia. The LK Range is the next step: the same proven know-how, wrapped into one simple, modular system that can scale from a single cabinet to a full 1 MW+ Innagator container.
Keith breaks down the LK architecture in plain English. If you understand how a residential hybrid inverter works, you can understand the LK Range. Inside every system you’ll find the same building blocks:
– MPPT trackers (for solar)
– PCS (Power Control System) inverters
– STS (static transfer switch) for seamless on/off-grid operation
– Batteries with their own BMS and a master BMU
– A local EMS / HMI that actually runs the show
Whether it’s a PowerHub or an Innagator, it’s all one platform. You just add more of the same modules as the system gets bigger. That makes the range easier to specify, install, support and service anywhere in the world.
You’ll see how the LK EMS is designed to run locally first. The system does not need the cloud to commission or operate. The HMI/EMS controls charge, discharge, cooling, heating, ventilation and all the operating modes: peak shaving, import/export by tariff, time-of-use profiles and trading strategies. When the EMS connects to a data router and logger, everything is visible in Sunsynk Connect, but if the internet drops, the plant keeps running.
Generator support is a big focus in this training. Keith goes into the difference between the traditional “one inverter doing everything” approach and Sunsynk’s two-PCS method. With a second PCS wired directly to the DC bus, a generator can charge the batteries even if the main PCS is busy supplying the load.
The video also covers the difference between on-grid, off-grid and full hybrid LK systems. A pure on-grid system is simpler and cheaper because it does not need an STS or UPS output. A full hybrid LK PowerHub or Innagator adds the STS and extra hardware to give critical loads true UPS-grade power, with almost zero changeover time when the grid fails. Keith shows a live 215 kWh PowerHub in the factory to illustrate this, along with the transformer coupling and HVAC layout.
Grid code compliance is another key subject. Keith talks through star vs delta grids, different voltages and frequencies, and why it’s vital to tell Sunsynk which country, grid type and application the LK system is going into.
A major theme in the training is parasitic (quiescent) loss. Keith explains why idle consumption and cooling methods make a huge difference to the payback on a trading or optimisation project.
Keith then gives practical examples of where the LK Range fits perfectly:
Car dealerships and service centres – Every dealership will need significant EV charging sooner or later.
Holiday and leisure parks – Caravan and lodge
The same logic applies to supermarkets, hotels, data centres, factories, hospitals, schools and sites in countries where power is unreliable. If you need more secure, smarter power without rebuilding the grid around you, the LK Range is designed for exactly that.
On the monitoring side, Keith introduces Sunsynk Connect and the upcoming Sunsynk Connect Pro with AI optimisation. Standard Sunsynk Connect lets you see and manage single or multiple LK systems from one portal.
