On today’s case, I welcome Ronnie2k and his wife CC to the ranch to help their duo, Sophie the protective 9-year-old chihuahua and Benji, a 1-year-old recent rescue who reacts to other dogs. Their goal is simple and important. Create a safe, calm home as they plan for a baby. What we found is what many families face. Lots of love and joy, not enough rules, boundaries, and limitations. Together we reset the order that builds real trust. Patience, calmness, confidence, love, joy. We practice no touch, no talk, no eye contact at the door, claim space, then reward calm. We use the leash as guidance, not punishment, to shift the mind. We walk first, then play, then explore, so freedom becomes the reward for following. You will see how a protective alert becomes a brief notification instead of a meltdown, how a middle of the pack dog stops trying to lead, and how a couple learns to project the energy that keeps a home safe, peaceful, and loving for dogs and for children.
