When Is It Okay to Give Your Dog Freedom on Walks?

A lot of owners think every second of the walk needs to look perfect, but that’s not always the point. Your dog can sniff, go potty, look around, and have some freedom, but only if you can get them back when you ask. If the leash is always tight, your dog is dragging you everywhere, and they cannot come back into heel or sit when you need it, that’s where the problem starts. Freedom is fine. But freedom without structure turns into chaos.
