Iran 'unbowed': Vali Nasr on The David Hearst Podcast

Economic blockade on Iran failed" In this latest episode of The David Hearst Podcast, MEE's editor in chief, David Hearst, is joined by American-Iranian political analyst Vali Nasr to discuss Trump's latest statements on the ceasefire ending, Iran's bargaining position since the war and if the old order of things in the Middle East are changing. The war on Iran, argues Professor Nasr, was meant to prove the Iranian opposition and end the regime. What ended up happening was the opposite. Iran's government while hugely battered and damaged by the war, but nevertheless "unbowed by American pressure", he continues. Professor of International Affairs at the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, Nasr is the author of a wide range of books, the latest of which, Iran Grand Strategy, he argued that Iran’s actions were driven by a pragmatic pursuit of national interest rather than ideology.
