Daredevil: Born Again Review: Episodes 2 & 3 Daredevil: Born Again season two continues with two new episodes. In my opinion, second episode was average but the third episode was much better. Let’s dive into the details. The second episode began with Cherry being hospitalized and Bullseye in the church. In this scene, we learn that Sister Maggie is currently in Rome. She wasn't a character I particularly cared about, but at least those wondering about her whereabouts got an answer. While Fisk is training, he learns that Bullseye has been helping Daredevil. We get to see Fisk's raw physical strength in this scene, which I really enjoyed. Afterward, Fisk ramps up the pressure on Matt Murdock by claiming he is a "hero" and therefore needs to be found. In the first season, Matt saving Fisk’s life was set to play a crucial role; that is exactly why Fisk hasn't been able to reveal that Matt is Daredevil. We saw Bullseye kill the Task Force that came for Cherry. Bullseye’s current motivation is actually quite unclear. They were discussing it in the episode: has he joined the Resistance or not? Regardless, we saw him stalking Vanessa in later scenes—he even made it into her nightmares. Also, I really liked the use of the blue whenever he was on screen. You could say this episode was Fisk-centric. Following the leak, Fisk intimidates Daniel. The show gives off a strong feeling that Daniel is "marked for death"; it feels like Fisk will find out and kill him. There was also a great conversation between Fisk and Vanessa. Questions like "How many worlds do you need to own?" and "How many are there?" were interesting. I loved hearing these characters discuss the Multiverse despite knowing nothing about it in a world where the Multiverse actually exists. We also continued to see Vanessa’s fear of Bullseye. Vanessa is another character I expect to die this season; I see no reason for Bullseye to let her go, and he will likely finish the job when the time is right. We also saw again, Angela del Toro. While shopping with her aunt, the Task Force took her away for a very absurd reason. I think there is a logical foundation for Angela to become White Tiger, at least initially. The scene wasn't bad, but they lingered there a bit too long. You might have noticed I haven't mentioned Matt yet for this episode; Matt is essentially looking for a way to get into Red Hook. One night, the Task Force raids Josie’s bar. To be honest, I’m not sure how they found them there. After a solid action sequence, we learn at the end of the episode that Karen has captured one of the Task Force members. As I said, I found this episode to be average. It was an episode where side characters were given a lot of screen time. Since many of those side characters don't interest me, the episode felt a bit underwhelming. In the third episode, we learn that the person Karen captured actually wants to help. It turns out he was a character from the first season who didn't support some of the Task Force's actions. I liked that they tied it back to that. Through Powell, we see that the Task Force is a corrupt force, but it wouldn't make sense if they were all pure evil. It’s normal for some to join thinking they are truly doing something good at the beginning. The captured member, Saunders, gives Daredevil an access card for Red Hook. Heather’s trauma continues. What feels strange to me is why Heather has Muse’s mask. I’d say she might be hallucinating, but I doubt it. I’m curious to see where they take Heather’s story. Frank’s name is mentioned in this episode, but we don't know where he is. Neither Matt nor Karen knows either. We don't see him in the dungeon in the final minutes of episode. He was alone in the final scene of the first season; did he manage to escape? I’m not sure. Perhaps they moved him elsewhere once they realized he wouldn't stay quiet. Regardless, we’ll get our answers about Frank in his special presentation. There was a meeting between Jack and Kirsten. Kirsten couldn't prepare because the court date was shared too late, but thanks to her, Matt found out the location of the dungeon. There is one thing that bothered me in the dungeon scene: who screams "help me" constantly? You’ve been imprisoned there for months, you don't see anyone coming, and clearly, no one hears you. It’s a small detail, but it annoyed me.
