‘When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord raises up a standard against Him!’ (Isaiah 59:19). The expression ‘raising the standard’ means, in military terms, going to war. So that, when the devil attacks, then God goes into action and you see miracles, which are the evidence of this. When you don’t see the devil, you don’t see any miracles either. If you sit in comfort with no problems in your life, you won’t need any miracles! Do you want to see miracles? Do you want to live on the edge, in the danger zone and see the God of power in action? The one thing that shows strongly through the whole of the Old Testament is the way that God always gets the Glory. When Israel won the battle, it was God who gave them the victory. If they lost, then it was Israel who failed, not God! God cannot fail!
