Welcome to SubTropolis, the world’s largest underground business complex, carved into a former limestone mine beneath Kansas City, Missouri! In this video, I cruise through 10+ miles of paved, illuminated roads inside this massive subterranean space—originally mined in the 1940s and transformed into commercial real estate in the 1960s by Hunt Midwest, founded by Lamar Hunt. Home to more than 50 companies and millions of square feet of usable space, SubTropolis maintains a constant 70-degree climate year-round, making it ideal for logistics, distribution, government agencies, and even a hidden post office. This place feels like driving through a real-life video game level. It’s strange, massive, and totally unique—come along as I try not to get lost and experience one of the most unusual places in the Midwest!
