Are Lebanon’s Christians Israel’s ‘friends’?

Last Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed in a Fox News interview that some southern Lebanese Christian villages had asked to be annexed to Israel. “We protect them against Hezbollah fanatics who want to kill them,” he said.  But Israel’s actions have time and again betrayed Netanyahu’s comments.  Not only has the Israeli army attacked Lebanese Christian towns and their residents, it has repeatedly tried to stir tensions between Lebanon’s religious communities.
