The court rejected his bail petition, meaning Darshan will have to remain in custody for another year, until May 15, 2027. During the proceedings before the bench of Justice J.B. Pardiwala and Justice Vijay Bishnoi, renowned lawyer Mukul Rohatgi, representing Darshan, argued that there are 272 witnesses in the case, but only 10 have been examined in the last seven months. Rohatgi contended that at this pace, the trial could take decades to conclude and argued that it is unjust to keep an individual incarcerated for such an extended period, pleading for his release.
