Description
So, who can tell what this is?
It’s a Kreg jig.
This jig lets me drill the perfect size hole at the exact angle I need for a pocket screw.
I’m building a display case for my grandfather’s WWII uniform.
Because I’m using maple that’s a hardwood- I’m using a fine thread screw, so they won’t strip out or split the wood.
This is a special 90-degree clamp that holds two boards at the perfect position and keeps them from moving when I’m screwing them together.
I like how they left an opening in the clamp so that you can put the top screw in with the clamp still in position.
Once I got the basic frame built, I attached ModWall from Tactical Walls in the back.
It’s made out of polyethylene so it’s really easy to cut and work with.
I’m using the drill bit that came in my Kreg kit to drill a pilot hole for the screws- this way they’re countersunk.
I also drilled a hole in the top for a one-inch puck light.
Finally, I shot on 3 ½” trim around the frame.
My grandfather was a big influence on my life when I was younger, so it’s really cool to display his uniform.
I just wish he was here to see this; he would be really excited. @hausplans
