SEO GARBAGE:
We finally finished building Cleetus McFarland’s wrecked Cadillac CT5 Blackwing into a full drift car — and it might be one of the wildest builds we’ve done at the LZ Compound.
After rescuing this totaled 668HP supercharged V8 monster in Part 1, we wrapped up the fabrication, suspension setup, steering angle, alignment, and final drift prep to transform the Cadillac Blackwing into a purpose-built drift machine. Seeing a luxury performance sedan turn into a sideways-ready drift car is something Cadillac definitely didn’t design this car for… but that didn’t stop us.
Cleetus flies in via helicopter to see the finished CT5 Blackwing drift build for the first time, bringing the whole crew out to the Compound. What started as a wrecked performance sedan is now potentially the first true Blackwing drift car — and none of us expected it to work this well.
The first drift test completely surprised us. The balance, power delivery from the supercharged LT4, and overall chassis feel made this thing way more capable than it has any right to be. Watching a Cadillac CT5 Blackwing link corners at full angle is something you just have to see.
Huge shoutout to Cleetus and the guys for coming out and making this one unforgettable. Builds like this are why we love what we do — big risk, big fabrication, big power, and even bigger payoff.
If you haven’t seen Part 1 where we tear down and start transforming Cleetus’ wrecked Blackwing, go check it out first so you can see how far this car has come.
Let us know what car we should turn into a drift build next.
