Description

At ZF, we contribute to advancing automated driving through our role in the EU‑funded i4Driving project. The goal: developing a cognitively enhanced driver model that establishes a realistic human baseline. In our work, we demonstrated how incorporating real-world driver diversity significantly improves the reliability of virtual safety and efficiency assessments, moving beyond simplified, “idealized” assumptions. ✅ Evaluated safety by assessing advanced driving functions like Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (CACC) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) in challenging scenarios ✅ Quantified traffic & energy efficiency trade‑offs by using synthetic convoy scenarios ✅ Benchmarked i4Driving against established models, demonstrating more realistic safety margins, supporting its role as a robust human reference for ADS/ADAS validation 🌍 These results helps enable safer, more energy‑efficient, and more transparent validation of advanced driving systems, supporting industry, regulators, and society on the road toward connected and automated mobility. 🤝 A big thank you to our i4Driving partners for the strong collaboration and shared commitment to evidence‑based CCAM validation! ℹ️ More information: https://www.zf.com #zf #innovation #technology #safety #efficiency #automatedmobility #adas
