UNICEF Protects Children in Ukraine From Bitter Cold

Growing up in Kyiv, Ukraine, 4-year-old Alika is used to long winters, but this one is the hardest yet. Four years into a grueling war, missile attacks have left millions without water, electricity or heating. Alika has been seriously ill, so staying warm is critical for her health. She piles her stuffed toys by the window to keep out the cold. "I love winter, but I really want it to be all warm again," she says. A warm home is essential for every child.
