Catherine and William Joins King Charles for Windsor Easter Service

Catherine, Princess of Wales, returned to the Royal Family’s Easter service at Windsor on Easter Sunday, joining Prince William and their three children at St George’s Chapel. Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis arrived with the Prince and Princess of Wales as King Charles and Queen Camilla also attended the traditional Easter Matins service at Windsor Castle. The appearance marked the Wales family’s first Easter service at Windsor since Catherine’s cancer diagnosis, making it one of the most closely watched royal moments of the weekend. Crowds gathered outside Windsor Castle to see the Royal Family arrive, with Prince William waving on the way into the chapel and onlookers calling out “God save the King” and “Happy Easter” during the morning. Queen Camilla was also handed flowers after the service, while senior royals including Princess Anne and Prince Edward were also in attendance. There were notable absences too, including Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, who is understood to be unwell. For the Wales family, though, this was an important occasion. Catherine and William missed last year’s Easter service while spending the weekend privately in Norfolk during a period when the Princess of Wales had stepped back from public duties.
