These Tops Never Stop

Spinning tops are endlessly fascinating. And modern technology has given them some new tricks. One of which is the idea of the 'endless top' - a battery powered top that will keep spinning as long as the internal batteries last. Tim shows an amazing Japanese top which is a marvel of miniaturisation. Place the top on the table and spin it, and this serves to switch it on. After that it spins by itself. As well as spinning, it gives an amazing light show - there are coloured LEDs embedded in the top, and these flash different patterns and colours while the top spins. We used to have these in the Grand Illusions shop, but sadly production of this top ceased quite a few years ago. Tim then shows a current version - we call it the Infinity Spinning Top. It is quite a bit bigger, but the effect is similar. Set it going and it spins away, providing a light show at the same time.
