A $3.99 ice cream sandwich in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion? We had to try all four flavors. 🍦🇯🇵 Over at the Mitsukoshi Department Store, you’ll find these Ice Cream Wafer Sandwiches in Matcha, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Sweet Potato — and they’re a tasty and unique little snack break while exploring World Showcase. The Strawberry ended up being our favorite thanks to its fresh, sweet fruit flavor that really stands out. It’s refreshing and light, though it does start melting quickly once you crack it open. The Vanilla is a great classic option (and probably the most kid-friendly). Think vanilla ice cream with a light chocolate coating inside a wafer, kind of like a Mickey Premium Bar — but sandwiched between wafers instead of dipped. If you want something more unique, the Matcha delivers a strong earthy green tea flavor that fans of matcha will recognize right away. The thin chocolate coating inside helps balance that herbal bitterness with a little sweetness. Then there’s the Sweet Potato, which leans surprisingly earthy and almost savory, more like a plain baked sweet potato flavor than a dessert. One thing to know: the wafer shells are softer and slightly chewy rather than super crunchy, and some flavors melt faster than others — so you’ll want to eat these pretty quickly in the Florida heat. ☀️
