*Eggs In A Nest Breakfast Wreath*
It’s Christmas morning – you have 20 minutes to make breakfast. Save time and stress by making these perfectly soft, buttery eggs in a nest breakfast wreaths that are made with just a few ingredients! These cute Christmas-themed wreaths are made with puff pastry that is stuffed with melted cheese, topped with crispy bacon, and hold a perfectly cooked egg in the middle for an ooey, gooey, pull-apart moment. Christmas morning crisis averted!
⏱️ Cook time: 20 min.
🔥 350°F
*Ingredients:*
- 1 puff pastry sheet
- 7 eggs (6 for the wreaths, 1 for egg wash)
- 6-8 slices of bacon
- ½ cup red pepper cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
- salt and pepper to taste
- optional: Parmesan or chili flakes for the topping
*1. Prep the puff pastry*
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut the puff pastry sheet into 6 equal parts (for 2 wreaths) or 9 equal parts lengthwise (for 3 wreaths). Spread red pepper cream cheese down the middle of each piece and sprinkle on shredded cheese. Roll in the sides to create a thin stuffed log. Repeat with the remaining pieces of puff pastry.
*2. Braid the wreath*
Take 3 pieces of stuffed puffed pastry and connect them at one end by pressing the dough together, then braid them together until you’ve reached the other end. Connect both ends of the wreath by pressing the dough together, and place the finished wreath on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining puff pastry pieces until you’ve made 2-3 wreaths.
*3. Layer and bake*
Using the remaining egg, brush each wreath with egg wash and layer 2 pieces of bacon crosswise in the middle to create a small nest. Gently crack an egg into the nest, making sure to keep the yolk intact. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Top with fresh rosemary, salt, cherry tomatoes, and any other toppings you like!
