A family had a lucky escape after a large landslide smashed into two homes in Hoarwithy, Herefordshire. The collapse, described by neighbours as sounding “like an earthquake”, tore away part of one family’s house while they were out, and damaged a nearby empty cottage. Emergency services closed the C1261, which may remain shut for weeks.
