Rāhui lifted on Tongariro Alpine Crossing after devastating fire

The seven-day rāhui over the Tongariro Alpine Crossing has been lifted this morning following last week’s major fire. All tracks reopened from 9am, except for the Mangatepopo track. A second rāhui remains in place over burnt areas to support land recovery and native vegetation.
