Audi has taken the car world by surprise and unveiled a successor to the Audi R8 - the Nuvolari!
It’s a V8-powered hybrid that shares parts with the Lamborghini Temerario, and this car clearly has the all-new Lambo in its sights! The question is, does it offer enough to turn supercar fans away from the raging bull? Let’s take a closer look at the stats…
Starting with the engine, it shares the same set-up as found in the Temerario, which means it comes with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, as well as three electric motors. However, the Nuvolari clocks in at 1000hp - 80hp more than the Lamborghini. All this power helps it hit 62mph in just 2.6 seconds, and 124mph in just 0.3 seconds!
In terms of the design, it clearly takes inspiration from last year’s Concept C. Up top there’s a narrow, upright grille flanked by slim headlights, and these sit atop massive air intakes. Along the side, the blacked-out air blades remind us of the R8, and around the back there’s a massive diffuser and large air vents to really give the Nuvolari an aggressive presence on the road. There’s also a massive central exhaust in between the slim-line taillights.
Although interior shots are limited, it’s clearly been kept very minimalist. There’s a large central infotainment screen, and the entire cabin looks to be covered in Alcantara. There are buttons for the gear selector, and all switches are made of solid metal. It’s simple, yet sophisticated!
Then we come to the price - the Nuvolari will set you back an eye-watering £500,000! What’s more, it will be limited to just 499 units, with deliveries expected to start early next year! The question is, what would you want to see us drag race it against? Let us know in the comments!
