Description
► The Duke of Sussex sent a stream of flirty Facebook messages to a Mail on Sunday reporter saying he missed their ‘movie snuggles’, calling her ‘sugar’, and signing off with a string of kisses.
The exchanges, from December 2011 and January 2012 between the Prince and Charlotte Griffiths, were revealed during the Duke’s privacy claim against Associated Newspapers Limited, publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, and suggest he had closer relations with the press than he’s indicated.
Harry has said he only met the reporter – now the paper’s editor at large - once and had cut off contact with her the following day.
The journalist said the Prince has sent her a friend request on Facebook in 2011 and sent her his mobile number before they messaged online. The reporter ended one message: ‘smooches, GC String Xxx’.
The trial ended on Tuesday, with a ruling due at a later date.
