Bengaluru: The Karnataka Lokayukta police on Tuesday arrested a police inspector while allegedly accepting a bribe at the Chamarajpet CAR Grounds. The accused, Inspector Govindaraju of the KP Agrahara Police Station, was apprehended around 4:30 pm. The action followed a complaint by builder , who alleged that the inspector demanded a total bribe of ₹5 lakh for not to add his name in criminal case. According to the complaint, ₹1 lakh was paid on January 24, 2026, near Sirsi Circle, and the remaining ₹4 lakh was demanded on Tuesday. To support his allegations, builder submitted a pen drive containing audio recordings of the alleged bribe demands to Lokayukta officials. During the arrest, the inspector reportedly shouted loudly, appearing unprepared for the Lokayukta police trap, sources said.
