I Bought A Heavy Haul Cabover! (And the trailer too)

Apparently I don’t have enough old trucks and trailers laying around, so David and I headed down to Southern Oregon to buy something I’ve wanted for a long time… a heavy haul cabover. These trucks are basically unicorns nowadays, and when one popped up for sale, there was obviously only one logical decision: buy it immediately and worry about the details later. Of course, nothing is ever easy. Before we could trust this old beast on the road, we found ourselves wrenching on it in the middle of a hay field, because apparently that’s my preferred shop environment these days. Once we got it patched together and moving under its own power, we pointed the cabover south and headed for the California border to pick up another questionable life decision: a lowbed trailer I bought at auction. Because if you’re going to make one bad financial decision, you might as well stack another one right behind it. Somehow, against all odds, we managed to get the truck, the trailer, and ourselves back home in one piece. Along the way, we learned a few things, solved a few problems, and probably added several more projects to the ever-growing list.
