US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has insisted that war with Iran would not drag on like past long-running US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. "This is not Iraq, this is not endless", he said. The Iraq war veteran did not rule out sending troops to Iran, and seemed to reject the idea of updating the public of further plans.
