If I had to pick one do-it-all premium car for a small family, the answer would be the X3. Every single time. I genuinely miss the old 3.0 diesel engines. They were punchy, effortlessly quick, and still surprisingly efficient. Exactly what premium cars in India deserved. But somewhere along the way, we became badge chasers, happy with the logo and indifferent to the drive. The result? Most German brands quietly pulled the good stuff. So when the X3 was reduced to a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with numbers that felt underwhelming next to the GLC, it was honestly disappointing. The new X3 30 M Sport changed that feeling instantly. It brought back the magic. It is fast, engaging, properly fun, and still incredibly practical. Add xDrive AWD for those occasional escapes, and you have a car that genuinely loves being driven.
