Switzerland recently held a referendum on a proposal to limit the country's population to 10 million, which was narrowly rejected by voters with a 55 to 45 percent margin. The proposal, primarily backed by the right-wing Swiss People's Party, aimed to restrict immigration amid concerns about space and sovereignty.
