DA intensifies supply, price monitoring amid higher inflation

The Department of Agriculture is intensifying its monitoring of food supply and prices. This comes after higher prices of vegetables and fish were cited as the main drivers of the accelerated inflation in February. The Philippine Statistics Authority earlier reported a 13-month high inflation of 2.4 percent in February. Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel says they are bracing for the possible impact of the Middle East conflict on commodities. He said they are now taking steps to ensure that food and farm products are sufficient.
