Description

Feb 10, 2026 12:30pm After the Ignomar Grade crossing, I jumped back in to continue my chase of this train southward and nearly forgot about this crossing here and barely had enough time to set up. I wish I didn't have a last minute effort catch of this crossing as I would of filmed from the other side at a slight side angle since this is the private side and it's mechanical bells seem to be going out soon and now I'm going to have to do an update when E-Bells arrive here from the opposite side instead of filming from the original side like I do crossings when they have an update or at least film from one of the sides I already filmed from. I won't be able to film from this angle again because I don't want to sign in just to film on this side even though this is the better side to film from. Security wants everyone that passes the railroad tracks here into their property to sign in in some way. A security guard came out. I only filmed from this side due to this being a last minute catch and turned in and setup on this side. This crossing features 2000s US&S RSI LED Signal build, one you typically don't see too much on freight lines but typically on light rail lines to also add, they usually don't feature mechanical bells like these do here. Unfortunately, the bells here or maybe just the close one maybe on its way out soon due to how it sounds when it rings and has a lot of clicking. The close signal has a broken counterweight arm also which I think actually was cut off since railroads for some reason sometimes cut counterweight arms off WABCO Modal 75, US&S Modal 75, and US&S Modal 95 mechanisms. Here's a thing, this has got to be an early 2000s signal install but in the early 2000s, the CFNR was using mixed Safetran & WCH with LI/Progress Rail equipment with either WCH Clear or WCH 1st Gen Red LEDs on their early 2000s signal installs. This is an US&S signal install so it's a possibility that this crossing was supplied by the customer here back then which would be Liberty Packing for the CFNR but I'm not sure. California Northern Railroad Genesee Wyoming Shortline Tracy Los Banos Job Local freight train on the CFNR West Side Line passes through the Santa Nella Liberty Packing Company railroad crossing in Los Banos, California. The train had stopped here for some season. They didn't switch any of the cars out on the train here unless they just spotted some cars for when they work here on the way back to Tracy.
