UNICEF Aids Children in Lebanon as Conflict Escalates

Marcoluigi Corsi, UNICEF Representative in Lebanon, reports from Beirut on March 3, 2026, where UNICEF is providing emergency assistance for children and families endangered by escalating hostilities. Children are seen sleeping on the floor of a public school being used as a shelter, and looking at a book with a UNICEF staff member. "In the past 24 hours, seven children have been killed and 38 injured," Corsi says. "These are not just numbers; these are children whose lives have been torn apart. International law is very clear: no child, no civilian should ever be a target, and violence against them has to stop." UNICEF is rapidly scaling its support, delivering health care services, psychological support for children and safe water as part of its ongoing emergency response. More help is needed.
