Description
Hampi, Karnataka, India, November 2010. The Hampi bazaar is a place were people, cows, dogs, crows, monkeys and cats used to live in a state of mutual tolerance. The man briefly interviewed is Hanuman, a famous book seller in Hampi Bazaar. Unfortunately, the bazaar was destroyed recently by the local government in a bid to reorganize Hampi temples and ruins within a controlled garden, thus ousting its former inhabitants. I dedicate these short movie to the memory of the displaced, wishing also the monkeys have survived through those troubled times. Filmed by C. Abegg, 2010.
