Opel Mokka GSE Rally: A New Rally Star Is Born

"The beast" got unveiled!" With the rally debut of our new Mokka GSE Rally, Opel has made a strong statement for electric rallying at ELE Rally in Eindhoven. That’s what we call an #OMGGSE rally debut: Round 2 of the Opel ADAC Electric Rally Cup just crossed the finish line, and guess what? The family just got bigger and faster. Say hello to the Mokka GSE Rally. Opel Motorsport legend Volker Strycek was behind the wheel of the 207 kW (280 hp) electric rally car from Rüsselsheim, which boasts a torque of 345 Newton meters. This power is channeled through a competition-spec racing gearbox and a multi-plate limited-slip differential to reinforced drive shafts. While it utilizes the standard Mokka's 54 kWh battery, the vehicle's software for engine and battery management has undergone extensive recalibration for maximum rally efficiency and aggressive drivability. To sum it up: a new rally star is born at ELE Rally. Despite the Mokka GSE Rally grabbing some of the attention the other drivers were fully focussed on ensuring an exciting competition in their Opel Corsa Rally Electric rally cars. With two special stage best times, Alex Español took the lead in the standings on Friday and did not relinquish it until the finish late on Saturday evening.
